Power BI Report Template
A standardised Power BI file that provides a predefined layout, navigation structure, grid system, and branding elements to ensure consistency, clarity, and usability across all WWF Power BI reports.
Using the report template helps report creators align visuals consistently, improves user experience through familiar navigation, and ensures a shared look and feel across the WWF network. The template includes example pages and guidance on how to arrange visuals effectively.
Navigation
The structured way users move through a Power BI report, including page flow, menus, buttons, and links that help them orient themselves and access information efficiently.
Clear navigation improves usability and reduces cognitive load. The guidelines emphasise intuitive navigation (including consistent placement of elements such as logos and “Return to Home Page” cues) so users can easily understand where they are and how to explore the report.
Accessibility
The principle of designing Power BI reports so they are usable and understandable by all users, including those with different visual, cognitive, or accessibility needs.
Accessibility ensures that reports are readable, inclusive, and easy to interpret. In the guidelines, this includes considerations such as clear layouts, appropriate use of colour and contrast, readable fonts, and logical navigation so insights can be accessed by everyone.
Layout and Formatting
The arrangement, alignment, spacing, and visual organisation of report elements on a Power BI page.
Consistent layout and formatting ensure clarity and readability. The guidelines promote the use of a grid‑based layout, visual hierarchy, and clean spacing to avoid clutter and help users quickly identify key insights
